single rear, and its clunking out a little, and its also not beefed up, i think its like a dana 60 or 70 cant remember... long story short the truck has 287k miles on it and parts are just starting to fail... she happen to mention a dana 80 with disk brakes would be nice and so i was trying to accomidate her.
but yeah its just clunks some times when you take off, we figured swap it while it needed fixing before it had to be fixed

Check out car-part.com. You can search wrecking yards near you for the exact part you are looking for! I have used it several times for hard to find items. Good luck.

If all other sources don't turn up a rear end, try one of the re-builders, ie Jasper in Indiana http://www.jasperengines.com/ at least it will have a warranty. That is what I had to do, I had spun a bearing and looked for a rear end to rebuild with no luck.

Find the adapters for the dana70 and see if they fit. I don't think that a dana 80 was ever done as a disk brake. Mines a dana 70, with disks. I'm doing my new rear axle up by just transfering the brackets. Might just use the ford stuff and get different rims. Ford super duty used larger brakes and larger bolt pattern. I want to build up a dana 60 with kingpins, using the ford parts just makes it easier/cheaper. At least thats what I got on the go...

I just replaced the rear brake cylinders to a larger cylinder from a ton CHV and now have much better brakes on my 2500 ,1995 5.9L lifted cummins longbed, extended cab 4x4. It was worth the effort for $19.00 each.

I was wrong they did make a dana 80, in 2002 2500 for either LWB or SWB. Mostly behind six speed trucks. Going to be rare stuff. I would just buy the adapters and build your old dana 80 up with disks or do the chevy fix for the drums.
