Dana 60 Rear: Fluid capacity, fluid weight, additives, gear questions

Basically, exactly what the title says. I'm doing my clutch tomorrow and figured I'd fix up my leaky rear diff cover gasket while I got it up on my friend's lift.

Anyhoo got a few questions.

1.) How many quarts of gear oil do I need to pick up?
2.) What's the preferable weight (80w90, ect)?
3.) Anyone got a picture of what limited slip diffs look like? Dunno if PO rebuilt with a locker or a oem LSD, so I dunno if I need LSD additive or not.
4.) What kind of RTV should I use (gray, blue, black, or red)?

If it helps, my truck doesn't do much towing, though I do haul between 1-2k lbs of metal in the bed every other day. See's about 200 miles a day. Tendency to drive a little aggressive. Thanks yall!

By the description of your truck, it will be a Dana 80 in the rear. It holds right around 4 quarts, so you may want to have 5 on hand.

It will have come from the factory with 80w90 in it. You can continue to use that, or you can upgrade to a 75w90 synthetic. I wouldn't bother with 75w140 unless it is used to tow heavy.

My favorite sealant, and the best on the market (in my opinion) is Permatex Ultra Grey.

Sorry, don't have a picture of a LSD. The next guy might.

You either got a dana 70(auto) or 80(manual trans) they hold around 4 quarts and fill to 1/2inch below fill plug. Ive used the gray and blue with no problems.

I used inexpensive farm store 80/90 gear lube and a bottle of whatever lsd additive they had on hand when I swapped my gears. Total cost was around $15.

Dana 80 in the back.Dana 60 in front....Don't overfill your diffs or you will land up having oil leaking past the seals...

I used valvoline durablend on mine. It comes with the proper additives for LS diffs. mine's an 80 and I think it took just under 4 qts. Mine has LS and I've not had any probs. If you're worried, mine said it on the build sheet under the hood. axle type, size, ratio, and LS.
