It should be cast in the center section of the housing I think but a gasser would have a 60 unless someone swapped it out.

hey-Hey!!!,
The D70 has axles that look like nails and do not have wheel studs on them. the D60 axle actually carries the vehicle load and the D70 has a hub with tapered roller bearings. The D70 axle only carries drive torque( vehicle load is carried through the hub ).
cheers,
Douglas

If you're a gambling man I sense a fundraising opportunity... But seriously, the D70 is the floating axle style, and the D60 axle carries drive torque and vehicle load.
cheers,
Douglas

There are full float D60's as well.

They are probably even semi-floating D70's out there somewhere, too. Dana sold axles to all sorts of manufacturers.

So this would have been a fund raising event for somebody other than me...

yup, 60 or 70 should be cast into one of the 'triangles' around the center section.
