Dacco Torque Converters?

I'm wanting to get my transmission rebuilt. Tryin to decide who to go with.
The local shop can do it for around $2500 plus $750 for billit input shaft. He says he uses Dacco triple lock converters. Has anyone used a Dacco with good luck? I've had a few guys recomend this builder

My other option is to go with Goerend. Cost around $5000 plus with billit input plus the install. I know he dose good work but tryin to decide if its worth the extra money.

I would like to add mach 1.6s and a bigger turbo so want to be sure the trans will hold up to around 400-500hp.

All i can tell you is i never heard of that converter company and as you know Dave's products and reputation are excellent.

Your price of 2500 for the rebuild seems reasonable if it includes the converter depending on what else is being upgraded in the tranny and the builders ability to do so. Again don't know the person so it is hard to say.
What kind of warranty does it come with as well is an item to look at.
Is it in written form is a good question to ask in case push comes to shove later on.

You will need valve body mods to hold good power and have a long life maybe you should consider Dave's converter and valve body combined with your guy's general rebuild of the other areas.

His warranty is 12 months or 12000 miles, don't know if its in written form or not. I'm gonna ask him if he feels comfortable using Dave's converter and valve body together with the rebuild. Last time i talked to him he said he'd heard of Goerend transmission but don't know if he ever used any of dave's stuff.

The lady in sales at Goerend said it would take 2 months to get a trans. There that far behind. Don't think I want to wait that long.

Talked to a guy at DTT and he said a Dacco triple disc converter is a cheap converter and will not hold up to that much power.

Not much of a warranty and DTT should be telling you the truth i would think on the dacco.

Don't blame you on the wait did you ask if they could get the converter and VB out quick ? For the HP you said you want to run i would not settle for the local guy i doubt it will hold up for you, might be further ahead to wait or look around some more.

Goerend Trans said they could get a convertor and valve body out in about 3 weeks. If i go with the local guy and put Dave's TC and VB in i'm still stuck a the 12 month 12000 mile warranty.

I'm thinking about goin with DTT. They can have one out it about 2 weeks.

Yes i know with the local guy and Daves stuff you would still have a short warranty with that deal and that is why i tried to steer you away from that route to look for something better for yourself.

Dtt is by no means a slouch when it comes to building a strong trans and i would have to say the are one of the top choices you could make.

If you had the time i would still say stick with Dave and one week either way is not really that big unless of course you are currently broken down.

How did the prices come out for you between the two ?
This is a big very key long term decision and cost for your truck so take the time to make the correct one for the long term objective.
