At least it's down near the floor.

Manual trucks have one that slides out from the dash up around the vents.

I've just learned to not use that for drinks, cell phone goes there.
Got a couple of the hang from the window ones for actual drinks.

About the only way to fix a cup holder. It mounts right in front of your center console

Well I've got the adjustable holders that fold down from under the radio, and they haven't broken on the 2500 yet, but on my old 1500 I took some simple cabinet hinges, screwed them into the holder and dash, then hung it with some 1/8" steel cable. That wouldn't break.

My manual one has the cup holders on the floor by the shifter. The up high cup holders by the vents were in the 94-98 year trucks.

Actually it would have been 98.5 that the new interior came out with the 24Valves and the suicide doors. So I think there would have been some 98's as well with the old interior.

x2

The interior on my 12V 98 is just like my old '01, except the fog light switch...must not have been ready in time for the '98s and it was placed in the cubbie above the shifter...2001 you pull the headlight switch for fogs, rotate for parking and headlights.

I knew they were up there in the early 2nd gens, wasnt' sure when they moved them down.

Anyway you look at it, wherever they are, Dodge cupholders don't quite perform as their name suggests.
