Anyone know much about this engine or have any decent links to info on it? Cummins has a nice brochure on it, but I was hoping for some more technical info. And perhaps some info on cost.

Kinda kicking around the idea of engine swap into a Dakota. Though maybe the ISB 3.3 would work a bit easier (like that Jeep project posted). Figuring a Dakota is big enough to haul my motorcycle around to the track and with a diesel it would be economical for a daily driver as well.

I'm not familiar with that engine, but I put a 4bt in my '91 Dakota. Wasn't cheap to do either.

Could you elaborate a bit? What parts hung you up? How do you like the setup? Fun to drive? Did you register it for the street or is it just for off road?


Edit: Just checked out the pics. Dang, thought there was a bit more room under the hood then that with the inline 4 there. Nice job, good looking truck!

I did alot of research so by the time I was ready to do it I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I had no hang ups, but buying what I needed was not cheap.
I like driving my truck but with no mods it isn't a speed machine. Mind you I get about 26 mpg (imperial). I have about 18,000 km (10,000 miles) with this setup.
