Cruise Control
Cruise decided to quit the other day. The On/Off switch will sometimes illuminate the light after pressing it a few times. The same for turning off the light, press a few times and it may go out. When the light does eventually come on, it will not set a speed. I have check the switches according to manual, and replaced clockspring.
If it was a solenoid or vacuum problem, should the Cruise light still function normally?
Any help before it goes to the shop is appreciated.

Have you pulled the driver's side battery and looked underneath it? Acid sometimes leaks from the battery and drips onto the criuse component directly below destroying it.

Mine did this. It turned out that the wires in the steering column were too short, and using the steering wheel tilt broke the wires. Sometimes the cruise light would come on if the wheel was in the "up" position.
Not too difficult to fix, but still a pain.
Hope this helps.
