if its a 12V check the blue wire under the battery on the driver side, it usually gets acidy and coroded and as a result the cruise fails to function properly... or it could be one loose vaccum wire, zip tie all of them to where they are hooked and ur good to go...

check servo unit
Pull the driver side battery and get to the speed control unit. Pull the large vac line off the front and check to see if you have any oil in the line. I had oil in mine and when I removed the oil from the servo fitting and vac line, all worked fine. Oil can get in the vac lines from the vac pump if the check valve is missing or not working.
Hope this helps.

98 light on the dash. if it doesn't come on, then its either the switch or the clockspring.
Mine was intermitent, then the Airbag light came on, so I knew time to replace clockspring.
All is fine now.

The cruise didn't work on my 97. Found battery acid had leaked on the cruise bellows and made a hole in it so no vacuum. Might want to do a close visual inspection of the whole control assembly located under the battery.

Guys,
the dash light does not come on. What is " the CLOCKSPRING" ???
"do a close visual inspection of the whole control assembly located under the battery"
" Pull the large vac line off the front and check to see if you have any oil in the line "
ok, i'll check under battery.

When the clockspring breaks it usually goes all the way, never heard of a partial break. Along with no cruise your airbag light will come on and the horn won't work.
