Crossover steering.
What companies are out there that make crossover steering for 3rd gens? I've seen Thuren and Bulletproof Steering but nothing else. Those two kits seem pretty generic to me, covering trucks from 94-06 with what seems to me as one kit for all. They also require you to drill out your steering knuckles making it impossible to return to stock and easier to permantly mess up your truck. I'm just looking for a simple kit, if one exists.

I'm looking into hydraulic assist also. I sent emails to AGR and PSC. They have them for trucks up to '02. I think the AAM is too new for a lot of stuff. I wish the aftermarket would catch up. I think I'm stuck with Thuren or Bullet Proof if the hydraulic assist doesn't work out.

You tell Thuren what you have and what you want, he'll make it. I'm sure they're not all generic off the same jig. Let him know if you have a lift, and how much, and he'll take everything into consideration, and if you need something special or specific he can do it to. Just make a call to him, he always is more than happy to discuss things! (Plus, he's pretty much just up the road from me!)

It'll work with any solid axle front end. Lengths and bends change slightly....
Install was pretty easy. I bored the knuckles out without taking them off the truck. Pitman arm was a different story, I'd highly recommend putting it in a drill press. I didn't.....and I got it done, but it would have been easier in a press.
Measure the toe before you pull the OEM stuff off so you can set the toe on the new stuff. Centering the steering wheel is a little harder, but once it's there, it's there.
I've had mine on the rack once since I put it on.....I replaced the heims on the tie rod after about 45K and wanted to check the toe and caster.

I have Thuren’s Xover on my truck and couldn’t be happier with it. It is amazing how play there is in the factory stuff. Also the feathering on my front tires started to go away.
My next addition is going to be a Defiant steering stabilizer setup.
