Couple Questions??

I got a 2006 5.L 73K 6spd (all other trucks have been autos, so i am not too familiar with this trans) and have a couple issues that i would like to get some insight on. I bought this truck used with 60K on it, everything seemed to be fine until lately little things have got me wondering.

First- clutch- it stared making a different mechanical (clanking) sound when i don't have it pushed all the way in. Either it has to fully out or pressed down all the way for it not to make this noise. It has been slipping lately in 6th gear too. do I need to look at a new clutch?

Second-When i was pulling the gooseneck this weekend, in 1st taking off, the shifter would start shaking like crazy probably 2-3" back and forth. What is causing this?

Third- when breaking the truck is fine until i am coming to a complete stop and the back end shaking real right before i stop. Any ideas?

These are probably pretty stupid questions but I am at a loss and figured yall could help me in figuring out what i need to do. Thanks

sounds like the dual mass flywheel is going thats abotu the right amount of miles for it to start dying. does it seem to shake a bit more at idle

So is the huge "shake" when shutting down the engine the DMF? Haven't ridden in another Cummins much recently and don't really pay attention.
If it is, that can't be good. I thought it was just the engine being tight when I bought the truck with 10k mi on it, but now at 50k, it shakes as much or more than new.

IF you have to replace clutch, do yourself a BIG favor, DO NOT get a dual mass flywheel. Then I would put a FluiDampr to lessen the vibration (the reason you had a POS DMF in the first place.

Any recommendations on clutches that are not too pricey? I don't have anything done to my truck, but do pull a 40ft trailer and 20ft hay trailer. Thought about getting a smarty just for pullin, not to go fast.
