At what HP level should I go from a diaphram to a pistion pump?

Where is the shut off solenoid at on the pump?

You will find it hard to break 300 RWHP with the diaphragm pump. I feel that the piston pump is not enough. I was able to drag mine down to 5 psi. I went with a Walbro system that keeps fuel pressure between 15 and 18 psi regardless of where my foot is.

The shutoff solenoid is on top of the distributor head. It looks like a nut with two wires connected to it.
