a couple new installs.......
I picked this Spearco intercooler up at a price that couldn't be beat. It sat around for a while in my shop along with some other things waiting for me to find the time to get them done.
Anyway, the intercooler was very easy to get installed. I did have to improvise on some things. It has two mounting brackets that mount underneath it and bolt to the front bumper bolts. The flared metal on the bumper brackets prevented the bracket from sitting flush to the frame. A quick chop with the sawsall fixed that. They can't be pounded straight and do have to be cut off.
A word of advise to anyone getting ready to install one.... DO NOT tighten ANY screws until everything is hooked up. Adjustment need to be made up until the very last turn of a screw.
After a test drive my EGT's climb a bit slower now, I was seeing up to 42psi on the boost where now I don't get more than 38psi. That's ok since I'm running a stock turbo for now. My guess is that because of the increase volume of the intercoooler there's less pressure with cooler air which contributes to the lower EGT's and possibly helped with quick throttle response too. Once the bigger turbo is installed I think they'll compliment either other nicely.
I also got the chance to get my FabFours bumper installed. That couldn't have been any easier. I was able to do it myself since it's just about a direct replacement. I had the same problem as the intercooler though. The stock brackets are flared on the ends which prevent anything from sitting flush. They had the be sawed off also and then the brackets fit correctly.
Please tell your opinion on the bumper. The wife ( who has to be pleased sometimes ) isn't sure about it. I like it myself ;-)

A guy took a Power Wagon and put a cummins in it. It was in a magazine a while ago. He put Fab Fours bumpers on the front(to re-mount the power wagon's winch), and the rear.
I say it looks great. Now change the front(I don't think the front looks half bad), and slap some d-ring shackles on it to add some character!!
Nice!!!

I agree about the color match,, that would look very good, by the way,, is that a pml or a mag hytek in the front? Did you have any clearance issues?

here's a photochop someone was kind enough to do.....
the wife really didn't like it this way. Not really her decision but, I agree. It almost gives it a rollpan look which is something I don't care for
Thanks for the opinions and compliments :-)

1/4" keyed and gusseted mounts, 3/16" construction with 10 gauge cosmetic pieces, 1" D-Ring mounts.
morkable It's a Mag-Hytec cover and no, there are no clearance issues. It was a problem they had years ago but, have since come up with different designs.

I love the rear bumper! When I bought my FabFours front, I wish I would have gotten both. I think it looks killer either way, the choice is yours....or the wife's!
