What could it be? Lost power all of a sudden on an 07...

Went to the store today to get some cold ones and ice. When started it back up, the check engine light was on, and the truck had no *****. Very little boost, could not get above 5-6 lbs boost. I am staying at the lake, so I can not check the code right now. The truck will barely go when you put it to the floor, going up hill, it would slow to 20 or 30MPH. Any ideas what it could be? Thx

Did you do the key trick to get the codes? on/off 3x, leave it on the third time... report back with the numbers...

Sounds like limp mode...

Hmmm... I'm gonna change your title a little... maybe get a better response...

Did you pop the hood? Look at intercooler boots? Anything look wierd under there? Is there lots of smoke? EGT #'s?

I dunno.

So your truck didn't give you any codes, it does sound like a limp mode. Any smoke from the exhaust? How many miles on the truck? Can you just do a quick check, fluid levels, you didn't happen to just fill up accidentally with gasoline, right?

Thanks for the replies. i guess this is a electrical gremlin day. The truck has a smarty jr, and a superchip firefly. I opened the hood and messed with the wires for the firefly, everything found no problems. When I started it back up later, everything was fine, no more check engine light. Every since i put on the smarty jr, i have had a lot of black smoke when first taking off, at low rpm's. This is very strange, I guess maybe there was a bad connection? On a side note our fifth wheel jhas been acting stange all weekend, the electrical was not working correctly, no 120 volt in the wet areas, then no 120 volt anywhere, then everything was dead. Turned out to be a bad 50 amp breaker in the campground..............This has been a strange day for electricals....................

Glad that your problems are over for now...

Rule of thumb (at least for me) when my truck went nuts on me one time, I unhooked all of my goodies, started the truck... worked as advertised, then hooked everything back up... things were great. Loose connections...

Hope you figure it out...

Electrical Gremlins, not the easiest to find... The black smoke from the Smarty is normal, just producing more fuel at the low RPMs than you can burn... Now if you want to see some serious smoke at low RPM, you should see my Smarty Sr. with the old school program from 2006. Turns day into night....
