Ok, so I get back from my 9 day mission trip to find that my boost gauge needle is on the OPPOSITE side of the little stopper and won't budge. It was perfectly fine the day I left. Has anyone ever seen anything like this?? What could cause it to get stuck like that? I'm really baffled. It is possible that someone took my truck for a joyride while I was gone, in which case I would be .

If it wasn't that way when you left, somebody drove it when the failure occurred. Just not sure how it would end up there except for what chaikwa pointed out.

Don't those gauges seem to go a bit wild on a self test pattern when they power up? Probably did it then. Or it simply evolved into a vacuum gauge. Did you hear a big bang at any time?

Turns out the heat melted the glue and broke a piece inside, causing it to go erratic. That's the only thing I can think of. Never seen anything like this. Guess it was just bad timing.

Did the same to mine, stock waste gate off, and letting the boost hit 30 to 35psi. Went to the 60psi gauge and have had no problems since

I have a 100 PSI test gauge just last week the same way. I went to use and the pointer was on the wrong side of the stop, I am sure I didn't put it away that way.

I popped off the dial face and set it on the correct side of the stop
It was also a Bourdon tube style gauge.

I've had Bourdon tube type gauge needles end up on the wrong side of the pin when water in the tube freezes.
Sometimes they read correctly again when you lift the needle over the pin but most times not.
