cost too much $$ to mod a Dodge

Crap, I just moved over from a 06 f250 with a programer, exhaust, intake.

Every single part costs more for the dodge. Some expensive parts arent even needed for a ford. $450 valve body, $$$ fuel system up grade (if you care enough that your sucking the rails dry)

I'm mad that a valve body is needed and that the computer dosent control it thus making it adjustable with a programer.

Programmer costs more and then a pressure box is needed (if you care to add one, or care to have more power)

Ok crucify me now for talking about a ford but my point here is that I feel that prices are out of shape.

I paid $165 for a intake elbo and now I have to spend $320 for a dodge one?

Sounds to me like you just need to do a little more research before you buy.

yeah, i mean come on Cat developed that stinkin fuel system in what the late 70s early 80s. At least on a 6.4 they finally got out of the stone age and joined us here in the present for fuel injection.

The truth is all the aftermarket parts cost more for the dodge's. Intakes, exhaust, programmer, etc... fewer Dodge's out there so the makers feel they have to make more off of each part so they raise the prices. A programmer for the gm I used to have cost $299, Dodge, $600. Even though it cost more I still like my truck.

When I bought my 06 it was 5K cheaper than a chev and 6.5K cheaper than a Ferd. So with that extra dough I saved I can build one hell of a truck if I want. You need to look at the forest not each and every tree, like they say "You cannot see the forest through the trees."

its the truth! the battery tray on the drives side is part of the coolant reservoir. and the radiator hoses have hard plastic elbows with a large "C" clip holding them on!

Actually the HEUI was a great advance in Diesel technoligy developed in the 90's
Racingforfun you can run a TST on the lower levels or a Smarty on the lower levels with a stock fuel system. And far exceed the power you were getting on the powerstroke you had. If you want to use the full power potential of the TST or Smarty that is when you need to do some fuel system upgrading.
At least your new dodge came with a 4 inch exhaust. that will make up for the valve body.
