Core Support Woes

I'm getting ready to do a swap. Took the core support out of the '90 donor to find it rusted pretty good on the drivers side bottom.

Can I just modify the '91 gas core support to fit? Too much work? Will the headlights match?

My second thought was to drop it off at a body shop and have them fix it.

Apparently these are now obsolete. Called the dealer, no good and when it was a good part # it was $600.

I called a few aftermarket parts dealers and they only offer the support in the gas version.

Just had another thought...

I could trim off the rusted section say 3" from the bottom on that side. Then trim a piece equal on the gasser core and mig weld it in.

A Frankincore!!??
