coolant drain plug

Ok i have a question on the drain plug i thought it was on the drivers side bottom, it looks like there is a hose barb and a ball valve of some sort. I turned it and nothing drained. I did open the radiator cap but nothing come out any suggestions?

Is your truck a stick shift?

You have to turn it a little and pull out, then turn a little more and pull again. May have to use pliers.

If you just turn it, nothing will drain. You have to turn it 90 degrees while pulling hard. I think that it is a bad design because it takes a lot of force. It will come out a significant amount, you can't mistake it when you get it.

It is easier to siphon the coolant out and you won't have to worry about ruining the 0-ring. Makes less of a mess too. The system holds 6 gallons, you need a big bucket.

I just remove the lower radiator hose.
Too many problems with the drain plug, either it needs a new o-ring or it breaks.

Mine was stuck REALLY hard also, I just siphoned all the antifreeze out, then removed the lower rad hose. You'll need a 5 gallon pail and then a smaller one, I think the system holds 25 some old liters... or 6ish US gallons...

Bad design by dodge or cummins or whoever made the stupid thing...
