Converter slipping when locked, what to replace it with???
Trans shifts fine other than I can get it to slip the converter when its locked up. I figure it needs a converter and valve body maybe a flexplate, but which ones? Will that be enough to hold crazy larry? I don't race (maybe just a little) or hook up to a sled, but I do tow pretty heavy on occasion.

That is a must or you will be pulling it out again in about 10000 miles like i did, then you will have to put another new converter in it. While you got it out go ahead and do it right so you dont have to do it again, believe me i know from experiance.

they are expensive insurance, but when you look at the cost of having to pull the tranny when the input breaks and possibly replacing the tc that gets ruined because of the input breaking i guess they kinda justify themselve. i presonally will be doing the tc/vb/input/flexplate in mine. the output i might do later. if it goes it usually wont do alot of damage to other components and the trans doesnt have to be completely pulled

What's crazy larry worth? 200hp or so? That'a 475ish. You don't have a lift pump or cp3. I'd say you're good with just a VB and TC as long as you don't do any launches over 10psi. I am just now going to do an input shaft and flexplate, but I'm also about to be over 600hp.
And for what it's worth - Dave's lifetime warranty converter is still replaced under warranty even if the input shaft breaks and destroys it. That doesn't cover labor though.

From Dave
TC, VB, shift lever, springs, etc. about $2000
billet shafts $650/each
billet flexplate $475, laminate flexplate $400, steel flexplate 30% thicker than stock $160 - just ordered one of these last night.
