controller question 08

forgive me if this has been addressed, i have searched and searched and cant find reference to it, i recently installed my p3 controller today on an 08, and it appears its always powered, is this normal? i guess i could put a meter on the factory harness, but im sure it is constant 12volt. anybody wired it to come on with ignition? thanks.

The controller is always powered on my '07. When you shut the truck off, the two small lights stay lit. After a while, they shut themselves off.

That's the same way my Prodigy works in my 96. Brake controllers are always wired to a fulltime 12V source. The electronic ones will stay alive, then time out after a while.
