can you use 3" lift kit lower control arms if you are only running a 2" leveling kit? Friend of mine ordered his 3" lift kit for his 98 1500 and waited to install it so I could try and copy the lower control arms for my 2500 so my 315's dont rub when I get them. Just curious if they are too long and if so how much should I shorten them? Just to stock length? As long as both lowers are the same length does it matter if they are off by a little as far as length goes? Thanks.

No you should be ok with having them an inch longer, I don't see anything to be worried about......now 2 or 3 inches than maybe.

I know the Rancho 3" lift comes with the fancy boxed red lower arms but they are the same length as the stockers. If these do happen to be longer then the only thing is you will want to make sure that your caster can be put back within factory specs. If all arms were replaced, an inch or two long would not hurt and actually would be better because the tires will hit the fenders sooner then the bumper in the stock location, so longer arms would push the axle away giving room for larger tires.

Thanks for the info. I was beginning to think this one was dead.

With a 2" lift the lower arms only need to be about 1/2" longer than the stock units. Just measure them and adjust as necessary.

I think a full inch over stock length would too much on my truck, causing the tires to rub on the front bumper at full lock. The 1/2" extended link arms I have are perfect.

Exactly. If you go too long they'll push the tires into the bumper, which obviously is no good. Carli's arms are 1/2" longer than stock and work perfectly with their 3" system.
