Confirmation on Bilstein 5100 Part Numbers
I just got an email back from Geno's yesterday. They state that the part numbers for all 2003-2007 trucks including my Megacab are 6681 front and 6647 rear.
Can anyone confirm these?
Thanks.

I really don't care about a rougher ride - it is a 1 ton truck, but I do know the OEM shocks gotta go! After getting numerous highway trips in over this holiday weekend to visit relatives, I do know my ride needs some dampening a whole lot better than the pencil leads that are on the truck now. At the same time, the steering dampener shock is useless as well - you can feel it's ill equipped quality right in the steering - this is on a NEW truck.
We've had a weird winter. With the frost heaves all over our roadways, it is extremely evident that the OEM stuff isn't cuttin' it IMHO. So, I found that Geno's carries them, but as stated in their website, they don't know a whole lot about them.
I want to make sure that I'm getting he correct ones. Especially when they'd have to ship across the border to me - that'd be an expensive mistake fo the wrong ones. Inquiries with parts shops up here have yeilded no useful information. Bilsteins aren't common up here and these guys will not take the steps to find the information. Even an email to Bilstein has yielded a crap answer - their internet guys aren't knowledgeable at all.
I have no other alternative but to turn to you folks here on the site for the skinny on the matter.

I feel your pain. I am also in Canada and have been trying to get shocks for 2 months. I know I may get flamed for this, but I just settled on Rancho RS5000's. I was looking at the adjustable 9000's but I don't do a lot of towing and have heard the adjuster's freeze up pretty quickly, especially in our driving conditions. Rancho has the "4 for the price of 3" right now and a lifetime warranty, so I felt they were worth a try. I also got a steering stabilizer. The shipping was $65.00 but with the special on the shocks it was basically free. Here's where I got them from:

Festus, summitracing has those part # for front and rear.
If they're on backorder, you can use those #s on another site like Geno's (that's what I did).
Make sure you look for the ones that match your lift (or not).

Thanks. I have no lift or leveling kit - due to the issues that have been founded on the front ends of our trucks with these, I opted out of these upgrades. Besides, I have to flip springs on the old horse trailer on the farm and any other new one in the future anyway.

Just last week I was behind the counter at a dealership on their computer showing them what parts I needed! Rediculous.

Rougher my behind...something else is wrong.
Firmer...most likely...but that is just the price you pay for MUCH more CONTROL!
Correct tire pressure and 5100's ar e a great budget combo on our trucks.

I don't disagree. But, now to my original question. Are those numbers supplied by Geno's the correct shocks (6681 front and 6647 rear)?
I'm ready to order. I just want to be sure. What about a steering stabilizer as well - which one - opinions?

I would call Bilstein to be sure on the part #'s. Their number is 1-858-386-5900

Ill try them again. The last time it was "we don't currently make anything for your model in the 5100's." Yet, folks on here are getting them. That's why I started the thread.
We'll give them another shot I guess.
