Compression ratio?

Compression ratio?
Whats the Compression ratio for the CTD's? Someone on chat said that Cummins has a higher compression ratio but I thought PSD had the higher cause of the V shape. I know Ford 7.3L is 18:1 or 18.5:1. The new 6.0L is 17:1. I would think Cummins is lower cause all they have to do is go straight down. Please correct me if Im wrong. <br><br>SD03

Andrew<br>I cant find it up on that website.<br>MCummings<br>I dont know what the Duramaxs are but I heard they are anywhere between 16.5:1 to 18:1. I think Powerstrokes have the most compression ratio.<br><br>SD03

CP <br>Your correct my dad corrected me today about that. <br>So heres the correct Compression ratio's CTD-16.3:1<br>PSD 17.5:1-18:1 mainly 18:1 for 02 and higher. Duramax-17.5:1. Thanks guy for the help.<br><br>SD03

SD03: As said before the CR does not depend on the configuration- V or R or star or whatever.<br>CR is the ratio between the volume above the piston when the piston is all the way down and the piston at TDC. <br><br>AlpineRAM
