Question Commander + Crazy FP.

My fuel pressure is all over the place again, at idle: 2,16,18,22,0,0,1,0,02,0etc.
This happend before +- a month ago, right after the truck stalled while I was rolling up to a red light.
Today - same thing. Rolling up to a red light, - staggered throttle response, then nothing. All dash lights ok, fuel pressure ok.????

I managed to roll into the centre median and get her re-started.
After turning the ignition completely off and back to start, she fired up. No issues - no problems, NO CODES.

I have looked at the wiring at the a/c that alot of guys are having problems with, installed the loom and electric tape.
All the Commander connections - new dielectric grease.
New fuel filter, +- 2500 miles.
I now suspect the fp sender or the commander, any hints tips, advice or help will be much appreciated.

Don't really know what to tell you. I can say that I had the Quad Race on my truck once before and although I really liked it, my truck stalled 3 times within a week with it on. Not sure what my truck didn't like about the box. I took it off and nothing has happened since. As for the bouncing fuel pressure, my truck did that with the Commander on too. The issue I was having was a grounding issue though on that end of things.

Possible air bubble. Try bleeding the sender by loosening it a little, turn the ignition on (without starting) until fuel leaks around the bottom of the sender then tighten with pump running. This may fix your problem. Oh, make sure there are no leaks after tightening. You may need to use some type of sealant.

I have had the same problems and VA has pointed to the sender. I would probably go with that first.

Let us know what fixes it!

talk with Quad. I'm still having the issues with their sending unit. Waiting on the fix to be proven.

I spoke with Justin today(Quadzilla), and his diagnosis is the sending unit. They will replace the unit with a heavy duty unit when these become available.

As far as the truck dying on me I have no answers yet, my dealer says to bring it in next week when they have an opening?
I asked to speak with the diesel tech' on the phone, but was told "no can do as he is too busy to answer tech' questions on the 'phone."
Asked if he could call when he has a chance, still waiting - even called the sales manager who sold me the truck, still waiting.
'Gotta love the service these days - diesel is getting way too popular!

The sender won't cause the stalling.
Fix the stalling first.

I went to my local dealer and had a good 1/2 hr with the tech', elderly gent' - and what a source of info.
I mentioned the 5amp wire running over the a/c lines, and he said that he had not heard of the problem with the 5.9, but had had definately dealt with the same problem on the Hemi's.
The solution of installing wire loom was his reccommended fix for the motor dying.

Hope this is so.
