I am tired of my junky factory front coils on my 06 4x4. Every day my front end bottoms out and enough is enough, I want a HD Coil Springs that won't bottom out unless I drive off the Grand Canyon. What after market springs are out there to fit my situation? I don't care about lift but I wouldn't want more than a 2" if any. Is anyone running the Kore Leveling Kit?

I'm interested to hear what others say, I don't think mine have ever bottomed out, but heard it's common with the mega cabs?

upgrade your shocks. ive heard great things about the kore, lorenz, and thuren systems. cant really go wrong w/ any of them from what i hear...but the grape vine also told me to steer clear of the tough country coils i think. good luck and get ready to shell out some cabbage. we want pics when its done

I read on here that some were using Timbren overloads on the front of their trucks. They might be worth looking into.

I just purchased the Timbrens for that very purpose....i have bilsteen 5100's but the front still bottoms....

The Timbrens are basically dense hollow ruber cones that replace the bump stops and rest on the axle....so they compress with the suspension and there's no bang when bottoming (becasue there's no space and sudden impact)...that's all in theory, i havent put them on yet as i have a broken knee and can't drive for another 8 weeks....but do a search on Timbrens....some people swear by them and they're only $158 for the front....figured it was worth a try.

Heavy coils will help but they'll ride rough. You need to trash the stock shocks to something that actual offers some damping. The stock pieces of crap are useless.

If you do it right and get quality shocks and 2" taller coils you can actually run a coil spring softer than stock and not bottom out.

Thuren will hook you up with some nice springs- I can't believe how much better riding and handling my truck is after putting on one of his kits.

If his is the same as mine, I bottom out on speed bumps if I hit them just right (Just wrong). It's irritating because it happens at the speed where you are comfortable going over speed bumps.

if that is the case, thinking one of the basic leveling kits would work. New springs and better shocks.

But just better shocks may do the trick. Depends on if you really want the extra 2" lift up front.

I use my truck around my ranch and that is where it is bottoming out. My 01 never bottomed out the 5 years I had the truck. I have no problem with a rougher ride I just want the problem fixed.

My truck (stock and with Bilsteen 5100's) bottoms on speed bumps and drainage crossings in the street....not every time, but often enough to be annoying.....my 05 with stock shocks did the same thing as well....i couldn't imagine a rough offroad trip....my teeth would shake loose....

ill say that with what I have, bottoming out has not been a issue.

I would send a couple emails off to the suspension people mentioned here. Then you can make some decisions based on your conversations with them.

My 99 never did that good in bumpy off road situations. It would buck me all around even going slow on "maintained" gravel roads.

The 04 same, till I switched out the suspension. Now those roads are taken at two to three times the old speed.
