P1698 No CCD Messages Received From PCM

If I had to guess, I'd say a connection problem either at the PCM or the ECM.

Once you fix the problem, it should clear after X amount of engine starts with the problem no longer present.

X could be 10 or 50, depends on the severity of the code I think.

I have a friend who is a mech for the co I work for. He has all information on Dodge CTD's. The computers will erase codes after 40 warmups, if there are no other problems.

Codes can be decoded at a couple of online places, this being one:
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...n&onlynewfaq=1
This being another:
http://www.troublecodes.net/chrysler/96-01.shtml

P1693 DTC Detected In ECM Or PCM (companion code, the code telling you that the other computer (usually the ECM) has a code)

P0341 Camshaft Position Sensor Signal
P1690 Fuel injection pump CKP Sensor Does Not Agree With ECM CKP Sensor
P0230 Transfer pump Circuit Out Of Range

Sounds like you got yourself a dying Cam sensor.

I'd say that would be something else.
Is your oil level fuller than normal? and if so, does it smell like Diesel?
