Codes

I pulled codes tonight and here's what I got:

P0622
P0743
P0500
P1492
P1765

I found the P0500 as being a vehicle speed sensor problem but my roommate just informed me that he got that after spinning his tires so who knows. But I can't find the other ones. Help me out guys. I'm gonna have the codes cleared before I get on the road tomorrow so I can see if they come back.

From the FSM:

P0622 - Generator field not switching properly
P0743 - Torque Converter clutch solenoid / trans relay circuits
P0500 - No vehicle speed sensor signal
P1492 - Ambient / Batt temp sen volts too high
P1765 - Trans 12 volt relay control circuit

Hope that helps.

Ok. Two of them I can blame on the TC lock up switch (which is getting disabled after the DTT VB is installed). The others I have no clue. Battery temp sender? What in the heck is that?

I recall something along the lines of a temp sensor in one or both of the battery trays... not sure what it does but just remember it potentially being an issue with optima batteries that use the "spacer" to make them fit better.

My guess is that if you have the codes erased, you won't see them again.

the battery temp sensor is under the left side battery. With optima's or any for that matter, unplug it, will never get a code. Makes little difference on the charge rate.
