on the way home from work-truck had no power-would not go over 30pmh. truck lugged/jerked-wanted to die when i hit the go pedal. came home and looked up code p0148 and seen it covers a multitude of items,etc. i decided to replace the fuel strainer to the fass and the fuel filter even though they only had about 6,000 miles on them. seemed to cure the problem- drove the truck for 10 minutes/drove it hard-truck back to normal (fingers crossed) so,here is my question ( if i did not already answer it myself) could i have had a dirty/plugged fuel filter which threw that code?

Sounds like you need to buy your diesel fuel some where else. Might be getting rust or water into your tank.

truck ran fine this morning. buddy cleared code for me tonight. left his house-truck sputtered again and stalled this time. restarted truck power came back truck ran fine on the rest of the way home- checked for the code-not present! getting stumped-now!

Mine did this after fuel pump install. Ended up I didn't put teflon on a fuel fitting and it was sucking air in. Couple wraps of tape and all is good.
