Cobra 75 WX ST All-in-handset Mobile CB..

I am in the market for a Cb, and the All-in -handset appeals to me. Is any one here using this model Cobra? Looking for feedback on it....likes....dislikes etc. If you don't like it which CB in the Cobra line would you suggest.

Thanks for all replies.

I'm kinda lookin at the same thing. Since I put my stacks on I can't figure out a place to mount my whips without them looking bad.

I've got the 75 wxst and love everything about it, the interchangable handset, etc except for it's weight. I use it in my truck and jeep, and the handset gets tossed around in the jeep while offroading due to it's heft having all the electronics in it. Even with that I'd still have it. In the truck I mounted it under the floor bezzel that covers the gear shifts. Only thing you see is one small hold on the side for the plug mount and the handset gets disconnected and goes in the glove box when not being used.

Just remember that the antenna setup is just as if not more important than the radio itself.

beat me to it. the best radio is useless without a good antenna. i run the cobra 75 with a wilson 1000 magnetic mount 5' stainless whip. i can get 4-5 miles Tx and much more Rx, i can hear a base station 30 miles away. the weather radio is the handiest thing in the world. avoid fiberglass antennae, a stainless whip is your best bet, the longer the better. here's a not-very-good picture of where i mounted the mic holder. i'll get a current pic sometime.

I've got one as well with a Wilson 1000 roof mount and short load whip. The setup works great, only 2 complaints:
It sometimes resets the channel by itself when you shut it off it goes back to 9, I want it to stay on 19
And I wish they kept the speaker out of it to reduce weight and size of the mic. An external speaker would be great. Other than that little stuff i'm really happy with it.

mine does that too, i have it hooked up to the cigarette lighter wiring so it shuts off with the ignition. if you hook it up to a non-switched source it should keep the channel.

Yes but it would also drain my batteries.

I have my current radio hooked straight to my batteries and it still goes back to 9. Apparently there is a wire I didn't hook up that needs a constant 12v supply to remember the last setting. Not that big a deal really. I have a switch that allows me to stay on 19 no matter what.
