I know we can go around for hours on who has the best clutch. And I really dont care, I just wanna know what might be the best for my application in your opinion. I have 170,000 Miles on a TIRED stock clutch, however it still takes some work to slip it. I noticed that the guys here at DTR have a south bend dual disk for $1,300.00USD Is this a pretty good deal on that model clutch?
So Im asking you to take a look at my sig. and tell me what you think might be the best rout for a new clutch. In the future I want to stud the head and maybe run some 120-150HP injectors. (keep this in mind)

Im going between south bend and valair... Any help would be great!

Yeah thats a real good deal!
Get yourself the 3250 Dual Disc. Wont hurt the leg and will hold 600hp.

Yea get it got a friend that has 525hp on one and ain't had a bit of trouble out of it and has close to stock pedal pressure

Thats kinda what Im thinkin'. Whats the warranty on South Bend? You'll have to excuse my ignorance on clutches for these trucks. Im used to the box always saying Eaton-Fuller all the time.

i found talking to one of the techs or in my case owner of valair was the best i told what hp im going to have and how i drive and he recommend a clutch which i am very happy with.

Valair has had alot of problems with plates exploding. I have read that they use China products.

SBCs warranty is 1 year pretty much unconditional. When or if you wear one out, SBC will rebuild yours to whatever you want.

One other thing.
Valair states that you MUST have the 1 3/8" input shaft for their dual disc to work on a NV4500.

SBC will build you a dual disc that will work with the 1 1/4" shaft.

i would put the big imput shaft in just to save yourself when you break your other one, my sbc 3250 is going to be on the way first thing monday morning, pm Dwitt0187 on here he sells these clutchs thats where i got mine from

Just had a problem with my 3600 DD South Bend, after 2yrs. Called Peter at South Bend to explain the trouble and he said I needed a new clutch. Sent me a new clutch no charge. Now thats customer service. Thank you Peter. Speaking of customer service. Due to back surgery I thought it wise to not install the clutch myself. Called Coaltrain Diesel in Toledo OH. They picked my truck up in the morning and brought it back that night. They had installed the clutch and new u-joints. They have very good price on labor and very good customer service. Would recommend Coaltrain Diesel and South Bend clutch to everyone.

There are quite a few guys running the 1 1/4" stock shaft with 400-500hp without breaking it.
How many input shafts have you seen broke?

i know of 4 guys around my town that have broken imput shafts, i guess its a chance that you just have to take one im "not willing" to take, i know the shafts are expensive but i mean im the type of person that if your gonna do something you might as well do it right,

it really boils down to how much money you want to spend

valair hasnt let me down yet. had a single valair at 458 whp and never had a prob.
the downside to a single is you shouldnt sled pull with it
so i stepped up to a dd valair 3600dd and i love it
i looked at haisley and sb..... but for the money valair seems to be the way to go.
i have 5 freinds i pull with that run em and we have not had any problems

ya im not really wantin to spend the 700 for the input for my nv4500, and was wonderin who runs the single con fe from sb thats rated at 550 hp? how is pedal pressure.
