ok i have a 6in lift with 37in tires . i tow every once in a while , and i am wanting to be able to use my smarty . which clutch should i go with ? i was thinking the south bend con fe for 550 hp and 1100 ft. lbs of tq . with the heavy duty hyd assembly . oh and the replacement fly wheel . which is better the o , ofe , or the fe . and i guess my clutch is leaking in the cab i guess by the slave cyl . will the heavy duty assembly fix that . thanks in advanced .

If you tow I would go with the OFE. Or if you got $ to burn and plan on makin more power later get a DD.

500hp or less the OFE should be ok. It is rated for 450 but I know it will hold more than that.

I would have to check but I think the DDs start a 1650, but one like I got lists for 1795 + the hydros.

The ofe is much smoother than the FE. If you dont tow much the FE is fine but I hear it can bet a bit jerky when starting out with load, or empty for that matter if you are not careful

Go with the DD! I have tried upgraded single disc (Luke 550hp 1100tq) and it was junk.
I ordered a south bend DD last week it cost about $2000 with the Hyd Upgrade.

pm dodgezilla04 and robert p, they are both runnin ofe's and DZ is pushin over 500 and robert is over 600. They are far from junk but the dds are much, better. If you got the cash go DD.

I've had the OFE and liked it very much I added more power and had to upgrade to anf FE I really liked it It is a little jerky but nothing you wont get used to. I am about to put a clutch in my 07 and I'm going to spend the $$ and get the DD so I will never need an upgrade. THe DD is very streetable. I've been told it does not shift as fast as the FE so if you are planning on dragracing seriously, the FE may be the clutch for you. If not I think the DD is the best all around. At least thats what I'm gonna do.

In my case and my opinion I can shift mine as hard/fast as stock. Hard enough to bark 3rd and scratch forth with a dually on dry pavement.

the ofe has been a real good clutch for me. I run 37" tires, and you can see my dyno numbers.so far no issues. However when the time comes I will go to a DD.
Towing ,street, 4x4, clutch is pretty user friendly. As mentioned earlier the fe is a litttle more stuborn.
I'd say if you are going to stay in the 500hp range go with the ofe.

my 2 cents

I sit in lots of traffic here in the DC area so when it came time to get a better clutch for my truck (yesterday in fact ) I got the OFE. I'm at the limit of what it will hold probably but I have no plans on making any more power. The clutch was a little stiff initially but after 180 miles home I was used to it. The trans shifts smoother than before too. I haven't played with it yet as I am still breaking it in but I have seen several posts like the one above where people making more power than me are running it with no issues. I think I made the right choice....
Thanks Tim Barber of TRE Diesel Performance.....
