Clutch problems at 30000 miles?

I have the truck listed below. It seems the clutch is not performing as it used to. Here's some symptoms: Engagement starts about 2 inches from pedal all the way out. Gears tend to not be syncronized all the time during shifts (especially lower RPMs). Getting a little slipping in 6th gear under load.

So...not knowing much about clutches in general...what could be the problem at 30,000 miles? Could it be shot? Is there some adjustment? Keep in mind I practice safe shifting practices. No riding the clutch. No high RPM drops. Shift to nuetral at stop lights. Blah, blah, blah. Thanks

What about zero throttle launches? Do you try to feather the throttle when you let the clutch out on launch? If so, that is bad.

You should not press the accelerator pedal at all until the clutch is fully engaged.

Always zero throttle launches. Never a need to give it throttle even with a big load. That was part of my blah, blah, blah.

Check your fluid in your clutch cyl first. If it is low, it will cause problems.

A question for you guys. Do you guys match engine/tranny speeds when downshifting?

If pedal releases high and it slips in 6th gear its shot! Needs a clutch assembly.

Well of course not.Tires,brakes,clutchs.DRIVER has more impact on these items then anything else.Often I found worn clutch's and brakes and tires(sometimes all three)on the same vehicles at same time.Make sure no oil or fliud leaks that could have run down the bellhousing or gotton into the bell housing and if not bet when its pulled disc is on the rivets. To stir the pot even more the pressure plate is covered 7/70 as is the throwout bearing and pilot bearing.BIUT disc due to NORMAL wear is NOT.Nor is those other items if needed due to usage.BUT if one of those OTHER items fails due to a DEFECT there covered 7/70! I've handled warranty rear mains at 90k(Cummin eng.warr.) and customer paid for CLUTCH parts and came out smelling like a rose(customer)D.C.paid labor to replace rear main etc.

Good info to have. Something else is that I had my truck in for a clutch TSB of some sort. I believe it was a new clutch plate. This happened ay 10,000 miles so the current one only has 20,000 on it.

Well now it could be another issue! I mean that would be odd if the disc was worn that bad in 20k. If dealer that did the work is nearby I think I'd go vist the service manager and go for a test drive and discuss things from there. if it is slipping after that the next step cause you can speculate all day is to pull it down for a look.
