Clutch & Brake Pedals
This is for the guys with manual trannys....how much height difference is there between your clutch and brake pedals??? Can some of you guys check for me?? On my truck (6 speed) the brake is probably an inch and a half lower.....dealer says that is normal.....i dont think so.
I have recently noticed there is a big difference....just not sure it was there before....if some of you guys could check your pedals out Id really appreciate it....thanks.

Hey Doc, this may not apply to the newer trucks, but on my antique the plastic bushing inside the pushrod had disintegrated, allowing metal to metal contact between the pushrod and the pedal. The pushrod had worn oval and the pin on the side of the pedal was halfway gone. Crawl under your dash and make sure something similar hasn't happened to you. My low buck fix was to cut the end off the pushrod, thread the rod, and use a rod end (AKA heim joint) bolted to the pedal. Allows me to set the pedal where I want it, too.

Hey Doc,
Just went out and measured mine and the clutch pedal is exactly 1" higher than the brake pedal..... Gues you got a keeper as far as the service guy you asked question to. Since our clutches are hydraulic, the wear should not be a factor on pedal height.
