Clutch and hydr. install ????
Ok guys gonna be doin a southbend dd in the 06, and hydraulic upgrade. Im shure the clutch part is pretty straight forwad, disconect all the stuff from the trans, unbolt the trans swap the clutches just like any other clutch. I never messed with a hydraulic one tho. I havent looked at anything yet either.
Wheres the hydr at, in cab or on firewall? Is there any speacial tools needed? Anything to be extra careful with so I dont mess the hydrs up? Anything else i need to expect trouble with?
Thanks for any help guys I really appreciate it. Rob

I did my hydros last weekend. Its easy after all said and done but I was nervous at first, I didn't have any directions. Leave everything in place and connected including that plastic end cap on the shaft of the slave cylinder it will break loose the first time you engage the clutch. Resevoir is on the firewall unbolt from inside cab and disconnect little wire harness. Your truck must have a c clip and bolt holding the clutch, mine was plastic. Unbolt slave cylinder, undo 2 black clips on the line and pull everything out through the top. Remember where things went. Have a buddy help feed the new line down to you. Get new hydro inplace loosley, then bolt down snug when it looks good and all connections are back together c-clip, harness etc... When you engage the clutch the little plastic tabs break loose, you'll feel em. thats it. They are way better than stock!

Wait, I saw your sig and thought it was a 99 you were doin. The 06 should have a plastic bolt like mine but the process should be similar, of course i have the NV tranny so now I feel like an idiot

Its for the 06, not the 99 in my sig. 99 is just my weekend toy. It sounds simple but will probly be time consuming and aggrevating. I always herd they were sealed hydraulic units so i figure it would be just a swap in part. How hard is it to get at all of the stuff? Does the southbend stuff come with some instructions or guide lines, or and i flyin blind with this one?

The instructions with mine aren't like what one would call step by step. They are more along the lines of NEVER do "this" and ALWAYS do "that".
Pretty much trying to make sure you aren't going to gouge up the splines or anything.
Mine came with the alignment tool.

If it is you may want to pull the washer out from behind the pivot ball. Ask Peter about it. I had to do mine but that was a coupla months ago, things could have changed since then.
