Cluster lights/Tail lights
My cluster lights and tail lights are not working, purchased a new headlight switch and still not working, checked the fuses and both are fine, any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Check your plugs going to the headlight switch AND the dimmer wheel. Look for corrosion or melted plastic in the way of the contacts. If either is present, clean the contacts as best as you can and use some di-electric grease to keep it from corroding. Make sure they plugs go back in the sockets tight and then see what you got...

If I may piggy back on this one.
i have a 99 with the instrument lights burning the #5 fuse, if you put a fuse in it will sometimes take up to a few hours to pop the fuse again, I have 3 pillar post gauges hooked in but removed the wire in fear of the circut being overloaded but it still does it.
When a new fuse is installed all the lights work in the dash there are no melted plugs or visable burns.
I am reluctant to but a new head light sw because there is nothing to sugest it is the problem unless the reostat is failing and not showing any signs.
And I am leaving on a 3000 mile trip in three days towing a 30 foot deck with two cars on it and need the lights to check gauges..
HELP!!!!!!!!

GBRACER, it sounds like you have a short in that circuit. I had something similar happen when one of my trailer harness wires wore through the insulation. It would ground periodically as I was driving and pop a fuse.
Also had an electronics store install a radio one time and they overwhelmed the relay which took out the dome light and some dash lights as I recall.
Good luck!
