climate controls problems

I have a problem with my climate controls on my truck and need some ideas. I had the dealership check it and they put a new head unit in the truck but that failed to fix the problem. What it is doing is it won't move from vents to floor or to defrost. I can't tell you how aggravating this is. The dealership wants $500 labor just to tear into the dash and see if there is something they can find.

Any ideas are welcome and, If anyone else has had a similar problem and found a solution that would be great.

Thanks in advance,
Eddie

Have the same problem your having but mine comes and goes, for the most part its broken but evey now and then I can get it to change to defrost or floor. Here is a post with some part numbers and TSB numbers along with a link to step by step directions on replacing the part. If you search user Ratlratl has a good write up with pictures on how to take the dash apart to get to the part that needs changing. I have been lazy and havent done anything about mine, maybe when it warms up a little Ill get around to doing it.

Hope it helps
