My truck did not come with clearance lights and was thinking about putting some on. I have a white, bright white according to mfr., and have been looking at those reacon lights. does anyone have any sudgestions what would look good, or pics would be better, between the smoke, clear or bright white? Appreciate the help!

Go with the factory ones. They fit great and do not leak.

I had the dealer put factory ones on after I bought the truck -- the cab lights were actually the deal-breaker when I was buying the truck. I told them they had to put cab lights on it at their cost or no deal... Hey really, really didn't want to, but they did...

This is a picture of BigDan's truck at night, he bought some aftermarket head lights also. They are recon's, but I think that he put different bulbs in it. I have some on the way, pic's to follow.

I bought the "clearance light kit" from the dealer about a month after I got the rig. Great kit, easy install, factory plug'n play.

I believe that REAL trucks deserve the "yellow lights"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, if you're gonna add clearance lights they should be yellow and not on a 1/2 ton.

"Go with the factory ones. They fit great and do not leak."

Some leak.

One of the standard factory lights on my 2005 leaked and, when I called about a replacement, I was told there was a technical bulletin on the problem and the original lights had been replaced with a new design. I couldn't replace just one light. Since I'm still under warranty, I had them done at the dealer for free. The new lights haven't leaked.

The factory ones have and still do leak. When I ordered my truck you had no choice. All 3500s came with the cab marker lights. They leaked from day one. I replaced several of them at my own expense rather than taking my truck in for some damage by an uncaring tech, as always seems to happen to me. I siliconed the crap out of them but eventually they start to leak again. I next tried Recons and they were worse than the OEMs. When the 06 came out they had a new design with a separate base gasket. I ordered a set of them and so far so good. A friend has an 06 which has two with condensation in them. So even the new ones are not exempt from leaking. That is why my signature says " just say no to cab marker lights". It is not worth the risk. I will never own another truck with them, but to each his own.

I had some problems with the factory ones and condensation. I switched to the recon smoked with no problems so far.

FYI the only diffrence in the recons is the bases. The smoked ones are black the other ones are silver.
