Clear plastic tubing..?

Clear plastic tubing..?
I've got to test for air leaks in my fuel system so need to install pieces of clear plastic tubing. There's some stuff sold around here for snowmobile fuel line, a blue clear tubing. Anybody know if this will hold up with diesel, or what type of tubing I can install and LEAVE IN PLACE PERMANENTLY so I can always look for air leaks at a glance? Thanks!

I am just guessing that if the blue fuel line will stand gasoline it will take diesel fuel. You can go to McMaster.com and look for clear fuel hose that will survive diesel fuel.

I heard that you have to be careful what you use, especially long term as I'm planning. Found some in a catalogue at NAPA today that's supposed to withstand alcohol, gasoline, aromatic hydrocarbons and some corrosive acids so it's probably the right $tuff. Special order of course....
Going to a large city tomorrow and hope to find some there on the shelf somewhere, otherwise I guess I'll have to pony up for NAPA '$pecial Order'.
Thanks guys... always somethin' huh?

On my GM 6.2 I have used a refrigeration sight glass in the fuel return line to check for air leaks. I left in the line permanently.
They have them at Graingers.

I hope this link works.
