Cleaning air filter- help
I'm cleaning my Scotty 5 unifilter. Have cleaned the red outer filter, no problem.
What about the inner filter that has a wire mesh inside. This unit doesn't come apart. Do you just spray cleaner on the inner filter, outside and inside and then dunk the whole unit in a bucket of water?
Thanks

I found an old thread which asked the same question.
You do clean and oil the gray filter ( along with the red outer filter), which comes as a unit that you can't dis-assemble.
I used the cleaning and oil kit from Unifilter and the whole process was very easy. No instructions came with the kit or from Scotty, whom I purchased the kit from.
I used the hot exhaust from my central vacuum system to dry the filters.

I read in a post before that you should submerge the air filter in hot water and add some simple green or a type of degreaser overnight. Then in the morning skim off the grease that floated to the top and let dry and re-oil. I might be wrong but I think that was the best idea on cleaning filters
