Chip and Exhaust recommendations
I'm looking into engine upgrades and see the Power Pup Chip/Downloader is pretty reasonable and seems to be very easy to use. The HP increases are amazing for such a great price. Please let me know what you guys think. Also I'm going to put a new exhaust on my truck, I'm looking at the MBSR Dual and the Monster exhaust from Banks. Any way I love this site and love my new truck. A chip and exhaust recommendation would be great.

Nothing brings a bigger smile than a drive threw a long tunnel
I recently heard a truck with dual exhaust (one pipe behind each rear wheel, not straight out the back), not sure why but it puttered like a sick dog. BIG DISAPOINTMENT!
WHY CHANGE THE STRAIGHT PIPE??? I LOVE IT!
I've seen postings by people saying it was too loud... I dont believe the people saying this have ever heard it! Its not that loud, and the only way I can imagin they are getting the "drone from under the truck" is if the exhaust tip has been moved (they just took a sawzall to there factory pipe and left the exit for the exhaust under the body).
One thing to keep in mind is that running an open 4" pipe, or even an open 5" will actually cost you performance! That is unless your makeing close to 800HP... If your doing that... WOW!!! Wish I were you!

Erik, I sent you a PM on the exhaust. On the chip, I've been running the Edge EZ and really like it. No problems whatsoever for about 10,000 miles now.

Banks makes a cat back system for your truck which is nice and quiet and gives the performance you are looking for. Another option which works exceptionally well on the 05 is to install an Aeroturbine on the cat outlet and use an off-set pipe to connect to the factory 4" tail pipe. This set-up sounds great and improves performance while lowering EGTs and has no drone.
As for the power box, get gauges first then choose the box. Banks Six-Gun is working well and so is the Edge Juice or EZ for pressure only.

The mods to make!!
Erik,
You might want to take a look at how you use the truck, if you tow or plan to tow later consider the Edge Juice and Attitude. It will get you as much HP as anything out there but it has the safety de-fueling feature to protect you from high EGT's. Plus a ton of other features such as the power level change on the fly, no reloading a programmer etc to change HP levels. The MBRP duals you mentioned are the way to go for the best quality and performance, plus the look sare pretty awesome out the back especially when you throw the smoke at the engine too! Take a look at the AFE Pro Guard 7 intake systems too, air in and air out equals MGP and lower EGT's.
We stock alll the MBRP, Edge products and can answer your tech questions just call us if you need any info, plus we GUARANTEE all of our prices to be the best.

I Have the MBRP Pro Series single 4" exhaust and I really like it, looks great and sounds great, price wasn't bad either.
My buddy has the Bully Dog Power Pup on his 04.5 and says it rocks

Throttle Positioning Sensor
First off I wan't to say thanks, your info has been great. I think I will go with the MBSR Dual 4 inch with 5 inch tips, Bully Dog Power Pup, AFE intake and power tube with 7 series filter, and a set of guages from Auto Meter. I think after that my girlfriend will be buying dinner from here on out. Also I wanted to ask you guys if you have had any problems with your Throttle Positioning Sensor. My Idle fluctuates when the clutch is in something terrible. My friend works at Cummins Northwest and said that Cummins and Dodge both know of this problem and are trying to get a fix for it. I spoke to the dealer and they had no clue. They said that it is normal, the engine is just correcting itself. ------BS-------. He said he would keep me informed on a fix. The only beef I have with this idle thing is that it makes a rattle every time the tach dives. Let me know if I'm the only one that has noticed this on here.
