Our local sinclair truck stop was bought out by chevron. The college has an open account there to fill all the vehicles. The other day I'm filling the busses and I notice the diesel is clear, I'm thinking ok this is weird. When done I go in to get the ticket and ask about it, the gal that's always there and knows me by name say's yep that's the chevron clear diesel. I thought all on road had to be green and off road red or does it matter just as long as your not burning off road while on road.

Off road red, road fuel clear OR green. Red bad, others good.

When the company I work for buys more than 2000 gallons it comes clear less than that its green.

I was just wondering cause I had never seen clear before. I run red 95% of the time in my own truck.
The college is non taxed so we can run red legally but our 1000 gal inground tank is getting replaced with an above ground 2000 gal tank so we are only keeping a 500 gal temp tank for the back up generators right now.

No you don't, not publicly. The fine in Alabama, if you get caught, is $10.00/gallon or $2000.00, which ever is greater, AND[U] a letter to the feds letting them know you are cheating on your taxes, which means a really, really nasty audit! So at the risk of sounding redundant, let me repeat, NO YOU DON'T!

NC is $10k if you get dipped and its red. My father in law runs a site work business and watched two of his competitors trucks get checked one day. $10000 load of dirt must be really good stuff! It really hurt having to park my truck next to the off road tank every day.

I was reading recently that Wyoming is the only state that doesn't have an offroad diesel law. Don't think Copenhagenjunkie has much to worry about.
In Montana the fine for running red is a flat $100 for the first offence.
