cherpping noise
I have a kind of chirpping noise that's got me stumped. First heard it last summer when towing 5800# TT. Only hear it when window is down and also this year when "not" towing. It happens at low speed, 25 MPH or less. I've carfully opened the door to listen while in neutral. When the "engin is off" it's still there. Seems to be from the rear. Anyone else have anything like this, and what could it be ? The truck seems to run fine and theres no vibrations at any speed.

There is obviously a little bird trapped back there. When the engine is off he's trying to signal you for help.

You can not tighten the belt. You have a Serpentine belt that is self adjusting. Also do not put any belt dressing on it. The chirp noise is normal on shutdown.

Again this seems to be in the rear of the truck and while the truck is in motion and the engine has been off for several seconds. I'm sure it has to do with wheel rotation. It's not a single chirp, but more like a "chirp,chirp,chirp,chirp....etc....etc. Not real loud. Usually from aprox. 27 MPH down to under 5MPH. and it happens when not breaking. I've tried tapping the breaks at this time ,but it doesn't have any effect on the noise.

By the sound of it, it may be the rear U-joint going on the drive shaft at the differental.
Does it make the same noise in reverse?
Even if it doesn't, that sounds like the culprit.
