Not really on the common rails. You might be able to if you have rail pressure guage and see how they compar on the specs and if they hold pressure after shut off but may not be the injectors causing the pressure leak down. If you are getting white smoke when you start it cold or brown haze at idle when it is warm are good indication they are starting to fail. If it is starting to rattle like a 2nd gen 24 v then they might be going. If you fuel mileage is dropping they might as well. If it is harder to start or dies after start up on occassion they might be going. Those were most of the symptoms mine had when they were going bad. Had them rebuilt and no more troubles.

Exergy Engineering for Injector testing / rebuilding.

Or call Todd at TC Diesel for some great info on CR's and these injectors.

Filtration is KEY with CR's...If you don't have a FASS or Air Dog with filters /water separator, GET ONE!! maybe even plumb in an extra set...

I just had my injectors rebuild for the same symptoms you had but worse... I added a second set of filtration...

Where are you located?
I'd be glad to help you take them out if your in the north GA area...

No, testing needs to happen outside the truck...

Injector checks

Having a friend do this recently. The shop thought it was some bad injectors so they pulled them and sent them to a shop in Portland OR that test injectors. Then they send all graphs and info for each injector with OEM specs and which ones are bad etc. Then the shop (Oregon Fuel Injectors Eugene Oregon) has a shop to rebuild injectors to OEM specs.
The shop that test them only tests them only, but the testing is done in some kind of lab type setting becuase the info is very detailed with multiple tests done on ecah injector, i think it was $30-$40 for each injector.
Not sure costs for rebulding injectors but it was cheaper than new ones, and new ones were back ordered and was going to take weeks to get new ones.
Anyone know if rebult injectors are as good as new ones?

Not sure what part of MO you are in but Northeast Diesel Service in Shelbina can test them. They don't do rebuilds any more since BOSCH no longer sell the parts any more, unless the company has invested in the clean room and quarter million dollar test bench. I had industrial injection rebuild mine also I believe F1 aka DON M rebuilds them as well. Unsure they either one does them to BOSCH clearn room specs but don't hear alot of complaint about them either. Mine have held up good so far. I need to get the filtration on them still but have been running additive. New injectors get stainless steel bodies which are supposed to be better and last longer than the rebuilds but I don't know that for sure. If you are near St. Louis you could contact MCS Diesel in Pacific, MO they work with Industrial and can pull them and get them shipped off. They can do some of the computer test that indicate injector failures but don't have the full test bench like Northeast does. In my opnion if you have one bad rebuild or replace them all as they will all eventually fail. I like my tips, great improvement over stock and really enhance what the TST does. It is a does smoke a little more than the stockers did but nothing bad and very controlable. Helped the bottom end a little but these CR have no bottom end any ways with the cam profile and emission tune in the ecm.

No, rebuild is never as good as new. Unfortunately, new CR injectors are kinda rare right now so rebuilding end sbeing the only option. Send them to a competent shop is th eonly choice and even then you can get bad ones back.

Mine were pulled yesterday and are being tested today. I had ZERO symptoms other than fuel " STarting" to get into my crank case. Absolutely running perfect, no noises, no drop in fuel mileage, no loss of power, no smoke. Just sent in a sample of oil and it was 1.5% and changed the oil. 2000 miles later already at 2.5%.

A puff of white smoke at start up when cold is not "bad" nor a symptom of a bad injector. Chugging white smoke for 30 secs or more is bad.
