* 5k on oil
* 40k on truck
* 5.9l; manual trans; bone stock...
* always used Valvoline premium blue.... might switch at one point...(trying to since the last 4 oil changes...haha)
* always FLEETGUARD LF16035 - STRATAPORE OIL FILTER
* truck only carries me and dirtbikes and a small trailer occasionally
* Also add opti-lube XPD most fills...

I don't know much about it just got mine to. I noticed you have 1 silver to, any idea what it might be from or if it's an issue at all?

I can check to see what the Cummins recommends for the 5.9 once I get back to the shop on Monday. But the sample doesn't look bad at all. Does the analysis company ask for the type of oil used. You can try the analysis company that we use at Cummins. Not sure the price but you can pick it up at our parts dept.

Your UOA is excellent, the only thing I would do different is extend service interval to 7,500, then change, resample the oil and possibly extend even further from there. You are waisting you time and money changing it out at 5k. JMO

Good report !!

I do a sample every oil change, they all look as good as yours, I change my oil at the 7500 mfr rec point for the VPB.
