ok so i was driving down the road today ...and the check engine light came on ......i figured ok maybe i am low on oil since she marks her territory everywhere we go.........so i checked the oil and it was 2 qts low so i filled her up and shut it off for awhile came back and the light still came on.......so i then disconnected the battery terminal and the light still comes on ....i'm stumped.....anyone give me some suggestions?

Take a look in the sticky, there's a thread on how to read the trouble codes. Find out what code(s) it threw and let us know.

i got it .....it was the alternator....so i just picked one up tonight and i will be putitng it in early tomorrow morning.......advanced auto is actually good for something :)

Yes. He said that it wasn't charging and then his dad tapped on the plactic part of the harness on the back of the alt and it started charging agian.

Dave do you think that it could be his intake tube rubbing on that part of the harness maybe put a crack in one of the internal connections in there.
