Hello, I added to my signature, I hope it come thru with this post. My question is does anybody have a reader that can tell me what the light is on for? The truck performs just fine so it is probably a warning light for tranny flush or some other Km deal. Just don't have it in the funds right now to buy one, and the edge juice for this year don't read codes.

One way to tell is to (while the truck is stopped and turned off) turn the key from the off posisition to the run position 3 times fairly quickly, then wright down the codes that it gives you and then I can tell you what they mean

0243 is quite common, one of the by products of tuners

What I found when I had this code was right on the solenoid on the turbo the wire had rubbed through the edge of the solenoid. Check yours out......

Well as I was leaving the next day the light came back on.
I checked and it was the same code again.
I will check the wires and hopefully that is it.

Thank you for that info, my book calls that code an overboost problem.
My boost has dropped from 36 to 23 max so it sure looks like a turbo issue.
Guess I`m looking for an ungrade, great.

I disconnected the Edge J and my cruise control works again so if we can get together on sunday over a twisty we could remove the code P0243 Wastegate Pressure Control PWM.
I can only read EGT`s on the E/J , but not boost.
Hope its not a wastegate problem, but then again it all about learning.

How many running key strokes does it normally take to clear a soft code?

I have no code showing in the display, but engine light still stays on. PIA!!

Truck hasn't done what it did since.

I do not know the answer for this as my code is driving me nuts.
So far only a Smarty or decoder will clear this code and check e/light.

Hey Ranger, We should try to disconnect your edge and just run my smarty for a few days and see if it will go away. Just a thought.

I have not had any codes since removing my juice with attitude and getting a smarty jr. Going to get the juice with attitude repaired and sell it and buy some real gauges. I love my smarty jr and have only had it on level 1.

We disconnected the edge on Rangers truck last night. Check engine light is still on, to be expected, it has not been cleared yet. However after the edge was removed the cruise control which had not been working has resumed fucntion. I can only surmise that the edge is not working as it should. Ranger and I are looking at going with analog gauges and a smarty for the 04.5.
