hey...I am posting this for a friend and his check engine light came on his 97 and the code came out as 401 which says an egr problem?....anyone else had this pop up?..if so whats the fix?....I didnt know this truck had an egr system thou it is a california truck so anything is possible<br>thanks<br>cameron

 

The California models for 97 and 98 have an EGR. Generally, all that is required is to replace any cracked hoses, clean the valve and exhaust passages, and then reset the PCM code.
