changing drw to srw on my 06?

I have been reading alot about it. I have found that u just unbolt the wheels and spacer and just put on srw rims on unbolt the fenders and have the holes filled. Every thing sounded good till i read one post that said u cant just put srw rims on the rear because one is hub piloted and one is stud piloted or something is this true that u cant and will cause problems? The othe question i have is will a bushwacker pocket flare cover the notch in the wheel well so i dont have to buy a bed or have it filled because either way im putting the flares on? Thanks for the much needed info.

I did an axle/wheel swap with a fellow, mine was srw->drw, our trucks were not the same color so we didn't swap the bed, instead I got his fenders and he got my fender flares. The fender flares did cover the notch at the fender, but did not cover the rivnut holes where the fenders were bolted on. I do not know if the bushwacker pocket flares will cover the notch, I had the Prestige Fender Flares, but they are almost identical, so they should work fine. You can leave the drw axle and run stock single wheels all around, but you will need the fender flares to cover the rear tires. If you want the front wheels to be on the same tracking as the rear with single wheels, you need a 2" spacer up front.

While many will argure that our trucks need hub centric wheels, that is not truly the case. Today the quality of machining for lug centricity is so perfect you'd be truly hard pressed to find anything wrong with the lug centrics doing the job. I run vision wheels, they are lug centric, I have had no problems.
