Changing 6 Speed Fluid

Changing the fluid on my NV5600. Is there a gasket to replace, or just put on some RTV. I want to pull off the PTO cover (& not just drop the lower bolt) so that I can clean the magnet

You can do either; what ever floats your boat. If you want a gasket, any NAPA carries the standard 6-bolt PTO cover gasket. They may ask you what thickness you want, but in the case of only wanting it for a cover, the thickness isn't important.

I just did mine with redline. Shifts better while moving, but can still be tough to get into 1st when stopped.

I was surprised how much metal was on the magnet (photo in my gallery).

Stock, they are just sealed with RTV. Even with the PTO cover off, a fair amount of oil remains in the bottom, that you could pump out if you want.
