Changed computer, now have thorttle problems

My computer fried, sent computer off and had it repaired. After computer installed I now have a gas pedal problem. If I floor the pedal, the engine returns to idle with no throttle control. After 30 seconds or so it returns to normal. Also the truck has a lot of white smoke at idle that goes away when driving. The truck sat for quite a while when I was getting the computer repaired. Its a 2003 3500 305 HP 6spd manual 4x4.

Thanks for any help,
Andy

Send it back, they did somthing wrong. I had one made for my truck, but I would not send mine in because the truck still ran fine except for the grid heater fault. I did have to pay the dealer to install the new one because I have a Laramie and they had to program it to the truck due to the security system.

before you send it back i would have the APPS checked and then do a reset.

I have been doing a lot of research on line and have found some places that suggest doing the key cycle gas pedal stroke thing three times. Is this the proper way? I turned the key on and slowly stroked the gas pedal once. This did not help.

Thanks,
Andy

try disconnecting the batteries then reconnect them turn the key to the run position and cycle the pedal slowly. Make sure you have the APPS checked it can be done with a digital volt meter but much easier with a scanner.
