Change in engine tone
I've noticed something strange over the past couple days. After starting the truck the first time each day or after getting off work, for the first several minutes the engine tone will change - it almost sounds like the KSB is kicking on and off (rattle gets much louder, then quiets down). Once the engine is up to operating temperature it seems to be normal. Haven't noticed any difference in performance of fuel mileage.
Any ideas?

While the KSB is energized the enigine will have a different tone. Once you reach 90F (If I remeber correctly) in the intake the KSB kicks off and the engine gets a bit louder.
If it's cycling your either on the edge of the 90 or there may be a bad connection.
I live in a warm climate so once it kicks off it usually stays off. Maybe somebody in a colder climate can answer as well

I checked the connections and they seemed to be okay. I replaced the sensor that controls the KSB about a month ago. I guess if it continues I'll try disconnecting the KSB and see if it still does it. I'm sure hoping there isn't anything wrong with the injection pump - I'm driving the truck to Oregon next month and don't need any problems....
